Staff Accountant

About the role

The Staff Accountant will support financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and cyclical audits while ensuring accurate accounting records and compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly accruals, standard and adjusting journal entries, and generate final GL activity.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules, assist with annual cost reports, capital improvement files, and audit support.
• Support compliance and reporting, including HUD replacement reserve reimbursements and semi‑annual accounting packages.
• Provide treasury support such as check clearing and other assigned accounting duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification is a plus.
• 5+ years of proven bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Panamanian citizenship or a valid work permit for Panama.
• Advanced English (verbal and written) and strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Experience with NetSuite preferred.
