Sr. Deductions Specialist

About the role

The Sr. Deductions Specialist will review and resolve high‑volume deductions for large customer accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified and solutions are coordinated. This role builds strong relationships with customers and cross‑functional partners to support effective account management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage deductions and short‑paid invoices across a portfolio of large, high‑volume customers, investigating discrepancies and driving timely resolution.
• Coordinate deduction activity related to returns, shortages, trade claims, and compliance issues, ensuring appropriate documentation and ownership.
• Partner with customers to identify process gaps, align ways of working, and reduce recurring deductions.
• Collaborate with Logistics, Sales, Cash Application, Customer Collaboration Managers, and other teams to resolve disputes and account issues.
• Develop strong knowledge of assigned accounts, identify recurring trends and root causes, and contribute to continuous improvements in accounts receivable processes.

Required profile

• 2+ years of relevant experience managing deductions for large “Big Box Retail” customers or comparable experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Advanced written and spoken English, proactive, self‑directed, and comfortable taking ownership of work.

Required skills

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
• Experience with SAP or Oracle preferred.
