Soldador / Calderero – Boilermaking

About the role

Cobre Panamá is seeking experienced welders or boilermakers to join its Maintenance & Engineering team. You will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, assembling and maintaining metal structures and industrial components, ensuring structural integrity and operational safety.

Key responsibilities

• Execute welding tasks according to technical procedures and specifications.
• Fabricate, assemble, install and repair industrial metal structures.
• Perform thermal cutting, piece assembly and fitting.
• Visually inspect welds for quality and compliance.
• Repair worn or damaged components such as liners, chutes, hoppers and support structures.
• Strictly follow hot‑work procedures and HSEC standards.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and control materials.
• Report unsafe conditions, deviations or technical anomalies.
• Participate in improvement projects and structural modifications.

Required profile

• Technical training in Welding, Boiler Making, Industrial Mechanics, Metal Fabrication or related fields.
• At least 3 years of welding/fabrication experience in mining, heavy industry or industrial construction.
• Experience with structural steel, carbon steel and alloy welding, thermal cutting (oxy‑acetylene or plasma), and repair of high‑wear components.
• Ability to read structural plans, diagrams and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with industrial safety, hot‑work procedures and quality standards.
