Senior Construction Manager

About the role

Ericsson is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead the deployment of telecommunications equipment across assigned sites in Panama. The role combines technical leadership, coordination of multiple stakeholders, and hands‑on management of construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage activities and personnel from Ericsson, customers, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with Ericsson requirements and contractual obligations.
• Oversee budget management, financial guidelines, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Plan, schedule, and execute construction work, including site readiness assessment, supplier selection, and negotiation.
• Ensure all work complies with Project Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and EHS statutory requirements.
• Handle work orders, compensation processes, and quality‑assurance activities to meet project standards.
• Provide effort estimates during pre‑sales and early project phases to support budgeting and resource planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of telecommunications industry experience with hands‑on construction management.
• Proven ability to design solutions, guide order of operations, and assess site feasibility.
• Strong leadership experience managing contractors, civil works, and complex construction projects.
• Deep knowledge of site acquisition, zoning, permitting, landlord negotiations, leasing laws, and environmental compliance.

Required skills

• OSHA 30‑hour telecom certification.
• Extensive knowledge of Ericsson equipment portfolio.
• Expertise in civil construction including fiber, commercial power, trenching, fencing, conduit, concrete and road works.
• Site acquisition and permitting expertise.
• Compliance with EHS statutory requirements.
