About the role

The Metallurgy Professional is responsible for the operation and development of a mineral processing plant, ensuring optimal metallurgical performance in line with company objectives and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Operate in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Panama.
• Maintain and enforce HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) standards within assigned sections.
• Implement metallurgical process strategies for crushing (primary) and grinding sections.
• Consistently meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined by management.
• Provide daily technical support to operations personnel to optimise plant performance.
• Monitor and report on process data, identifying bottlenecks and driving systematic improvements.

Required profile

• University degree or tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or a related field.
• Proven experience in plant engineering or technical metallurgy, specifically in grinding and flotation of base metals.
• Strong commitment to SHEC (Safety, Health, Environment, Community) performance indicators.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear operational reports for both executive and field teams.
• Fluent English; Spanish knowledge is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
