Cybersecurity Architect

About the role

CRDF Global is looking for a hands‑on Cybersecurity Architect to strengthen the cyber resilience of partner governments and critical‑infrastructure organisations across Central and South America and the Caribbean. The role supports U.S. government‑funded programmes, leads technical assessments, and translates findings into practical roadmaps for senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity assessments aligned with NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, EU NIS2 and related frameworks.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and analysis using Nessus, Qualys and open‑source tools.
• Evaluate SOC maturity, including log collection, SIEM configuration, alerting, case management and incident‑response procedures.
• Assess technical controls such as network segmentation, firewalls, endpoint detection & response, identity‑and‑access management and multifactor authentication.
• Produce technical reports with risk ratings, prioritized remediation roadmaps and implementation plans.
• Provide technical leadership for design, planning and implementation of cybersecurity projects.
• Coordinate with CRDF Global’s Digital Resilience team and Office of the CTO to ensure architectural consistency.
• Engage with government partners, CERTs, universities and represent CRDF Global in technical forums.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity solution design, security operations, risk assessment and mitigation.
• Proven experience conducting assessments using NIST CSF or comparable frameworks.
• Ability to work independently in field environments and travel internationally for short‑term engagements.
• Panamanian work authorization is required.
