About the role

Doctor Shop Panamá, S.A., a distributor of medical equipment and supplies, is seeking an external accountant to manage and supervise the company’s accounting functions. The position is primarily remote, with occasional on‑site attendance for meetings, audits, or document reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and up‑to‑date accounting records.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and accounting reports.
• Verify payroll, labor benefits and related obligations.
• Prepare and file tax declarations and reports to the DGI, CSS, municipal authorities and other relevant entities.
• Perform bank reconciliations, account analysis and control of accounts payable and receivable.
• Supervise proper recording of inventory, purchases, sales and imports.
• Coordinate monthly and annual closing processes.
• Respond to audit requests and provide required documentation.
• Advise management on accounting, tax and financial matters.
• Be available for occasional in‑person meetings, audits or procedural reviews.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting.
• Current professional accounting qualification in Panama.
• Proven experience handling full‑cycle accounting for companies.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of Panamanian tax, labor and accounting legislation.
• Proficiency with accounting tools and ERP systems.
• High level of organization, confidentiality, responsibility and deadline compliance.
