About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to lead a team of electricians in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment at Minera Panamá S.A. The role ensures compliance with safety standards and project specifications within a challenging mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and direct a team of electricians, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance and monitoring performance.
• Plan, schedule and execute electrical installation, maintenance and repair projects according to drawings, schematics and applicable codes.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and required adjustments.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical problems using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic tools.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with company safety policies, national electrical codes and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and enforce the use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Train and mentor junior electricians and apprentices.
• Assist in procurement and inventory management of electrical supplies and equipment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program.
• Valid electrician license or equivalent certification in Panama.
• Minimum 5 years of qualified electrician experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role, preferably in heavy‑industrial or mining settings.
• Proven knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs and high‑voltage distribution.
• Deep understanding of national electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Spanish and preferably English.
• Willingness to work in the demanding environmental conditions of a mining operation.
