About the role
The Credit Operations and Regulatory Reporting Officer centralises all operational and regulatory responsibilities for the Credit function, aiming to improve service levels, compliance, timeliness and the quality of credit regulatory reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and submit all regulatory credit returns required by the Central Bank of Nigeria, including monthly capital adequacy and credit portfolio position reports.
- Manage ongoing updates to the Credit Risk Management System (CRMS) and submit monthly CRMS data.
- Submit credit reports to credit bureaus and fulfil FirstRand Group reporting obligations to the South African Reserve Bank.
- Respond to internal requests for credit portfolio data from Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations and Internal Audit.
- Support the Credit team in preparing board and executive committee credit portfolio reports.
- Participate in Deal Conclusion Forums and New Product Approval processes, reviewing credit facility agreements before disbursement.
- Oversee collateral management, monitor covenant breaches and ensure accurate credit documentation.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of credit regulatory reporting requirements in Nigeria and South Africa.
- Ability to liaise with multiple internal stakeholders and ensure data accuracy.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple ad‑hoc information requests.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Credit Risk Management System (CRMS).
