About the role

The Caterpillar Component Technician will work on diagnosing, disassembling, repairing and re‑assembling Caterpillar engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems and other components. The role is full‑time, onsite in Panama City and follows Caterpillar technical manuals and brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnosis, disassembly, repair and re‑assembly of Caterpillar components according to technical manuals.
• Inspect parts, conduct measurements, run functional tests and record all interventions in internal management systems.
• Collaborate with the workshop team to plan repairs, request spare parts and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and proper tool usage.

Required profile

• Technical background in heavy‑duty mechanics, diesel engine repair and Caterpillar components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and manufacturer manuals.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators.
• Technical training in automotive or heavy‑machinery mechanics; prior experience in a Caterpillar‑specialized workshop is valued.
