About the role

The Diesel Engine Technician 1 is responsible for maintaining and repairing internal combustion diesel engines and their injection systems. The role requires applying technical knowledge, following factory manuals, and ensuring safe and environmentally‑friendly work practices.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and component replacement according to Liebherr manuals.
• Inspect, diagnose, and report engine faults using technical expertise and diagnostic software.
• Assist less‑experienced technicians, providing guidance and knowledge transfer.
• Interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics to quickly locate failures.
• Assemble and adjust diesel engine components using approved tools and methods.
• Operate specialized equipment such as thermal cameras, roughness testers, digital cameras, and videoscopes.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and keep tools in good condition.
• Participate in engine changeovers during PCR projects, following safety procedures and Gantt‑chart timelines.
• Contribute to the development of new processes and spare‑part forecasting programs.
• Complete work orders with accurate documentation and coordinate with senior technicians when needed.
• Conduct risk analyses, near‑miss reporting, and safe driving of company vehicles when required.

Required profile

• Technical background in internal combustion diesel engines and injection systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
• Ability to work independently and support junior staff.
• Strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards.
• Effective communication with supervisors and senior technicians.
