About the role

Mercantil Zona Libre, S.A. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily operations at its facility in the Free Zone of Colón, Panama. The role involves overseeing receipt, storage, order picking, inventory control, and dispatch activities while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily receipt, storage, picking, order preparation, and dispatch of goods.
• Assign tasks to operational staff based on priorities and operational needs.
• Ensure adherence to internal procedures and established processing times.
• Verify correct placement, identification, and storage of merchandise.
• Monitor inventory movements, support physical and cyclic counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
• Report damaged, missing, or otherwise problematic inventory.
• Maintain cleanliness, order, and proper layout of storage areas.
• Enforce occupational safety and health regulations.
• Oversee proper use and condition of warehouse equipment and facilities.
• Track staff performance, attendance, discipline, and productivity.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of goods and timely dispatches.
• Prepare and update operational reports and controls.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to boost efficiency and productivity.
• Report incidents affecting operations to the Warehouse Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or university studies in Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
• 2–3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or similar roles, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate operational teams.
• Familiarity with warehouse processes such as receipt, storage, picking, inventory, and dispatch.

Required skills

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
