Senior Staff Civil Engineer – Panama

About the role

Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Panama. The role focuses on planning, designing, and permitting civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. You will gain experience across mixed‑use developments, shopping centers, residential, higher education, federal and other land development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and modify engineering documents such as reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related software.
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrology, topography and geology and determine their impact on project planning and design.
• Maintain awareness of local, state and federal land‑use permitting requirements (a plus).
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and EIT certification (PE preferred).
• At least 3 years of professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, storm‑water management, drainage and soil erosion control.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail, analytical ability and sound judgment.
• Ability to follow direction and work effectively in a collaborative team environment; travel may be required based on project needs.
