Senior Business Development Manager – Utilities IPP LATAM

About the role

Join Aggreko as a Senior Business Development Manager supporting Utilities and Independent Power Producers across Latin America. You will lead the identification, origination, structuring, negotiation and closing of energy opportunities, expanding Aggreko’s presence in power generation, storage, transmission, distribution and related utility sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Build and execute the medium‑ and long‑term regional Utilities and IPP growth strategy once approved.
• Develop a robust commercial pipeline, maintain accurate forecasts and identify greenfield, brownfield, Ready‑to‑Build and operating thermal, hybrid, BESS and NCRE opportunities.
• Lead commercial, technical and financial evaluation of new business opportunities and coordinate due‑diligence across technical, legal, tax, regulatory and financial workstreams.
• Prepare business cases, investment memos and approval presentations for strategic opportunities.
• Work with the financial team to support project‑finance structures with banks, multilaterals and infrastructure funds.
• Establish negotiation strategies for PPAs, EPC agreements, O&M contracts, JV agreements and acquisition contracts.
• Monitor energy regulations and electricity market developments, and identify acquisition, partnership and investment opportunities aligned with Aggreko’s strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in utilities, IPP, energy projects, project development or project finance.
• Knowledge of power markets, energy regulation and utility business models.
• Experience supporting financial models, evaluating energy investments and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive‑level presentation capabilities.
• Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is desirable.
• Willingness to travel across Latin America.
