Project Engineer – Electrical Design

About the role

ABB is looking for a Project Engineer to act as the design authority for low‑ to medium‑complexity electrical engineering tasks within the Porst Electrification business unit. You will work on small projects or specific parts of larger projects, ensuring cost‑effective delivery while applying basic design‑thinking principles.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.
• Assist in preparing proposals and presentations for engineering projects.
• Use checklists to verify designs against applicable standards and engineering guidelines.
• Act as the design authority for assigned electrical disciplines.

Required profile

• University degree in Electronic, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering projects.
• Knowledge of low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical design.
• Availability to travel as required.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Electrical design (low voltage, medium voltage).
• Substation design, including medium‑voltage cells, transformers, low‑voltage cells.
• UPS systems, DC power systems, SCADA.
• Fire‑alarm and climate‑control system design.
