Network and Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

STC Panamá is looking for a full‑time, on‑site Network and Cybersecurity Engineer to work as a resident engineer at a strategic client’s premises. The role involves managing and supporting critical network and security infrastructure, handling incidents, and ensuring high availability for mission‑critical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support the client’s network and security infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls.
• Implement and support IPsec and SSL VPN solutions.
• Manage security policies, VLANs, routing, and other network services.
• Administer switches and wireless access points.
• Monitor infrastructure, respond to network and cybersecurity incidents.
• Log and track cases using the ticketing platform.
• Prepare technical reports, procedures, and documentation.
• Coordinate technical requirements between the client and service providers.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in networking and cybersecurity.
• Proven experience with Fortinet solutions, especially FortiGate.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for incident resolution.
• Good communication, organization, and customer‑orientation.
• Availability to work on‑site at the client location.

Required skills

• FortiGate firewall configuration and management.
• IPsec VPN and SSL VPN implementation.
• FortiSwitch, FortiAP, and FortiAnalyzer familiarity (preferred).
• VLAN configuration and routing.
• Network switching and wireless access point administration.
• Network monitoring and log management.
• Ticketing system usage and technical documentation.
