NERC O&P Compliance Analyst I

About the role

Join Electric Power Engineers to help shape the future grid by supporting clients in meeting NERC Operations and Planning reliability standards. Working under senior compliance staff, you will develop expertise in regulatory frameworks while assisting with evidence gathering, documentation, and audit preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior compliance staff in collecting, organizing, and submitting client compliance data.
• Prepare audit documentation and evidence packages under supervision.
• Participate in client meetings, providing support and occasionally leading discussions.
• Maintain compliance tracking systems and records for accurate reporting.
• Draft procedural documents for operational and compliance requirements under guidance.
• Support periodic data submissions on behalf of clients using provided evidence.
• Help organize materials for mock audits and real audit preparation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 2‑5 years of professional experience, including 0‑3 years in regulatory/compliance.
• Basic understanding of power plant or transmission operations, planning concepts, or CIP.
• Foundational awareness of NERC Reliability Standards and the broader regulatory environment.
• Strong data collection and organization abilities with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn regulatory frameworks and compliance procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
