About the role

The Panamanian Red Cross is seeking a qualified medical doctor to join its Central Office in Albrook. The professional will provide comprehensive, timely, and quality health care to migrants, refugees, and vulnerable communities, while supporting health promotion, disease surveillance, and safe referral processes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary health care and basic emergency services, including triage, vital‑sign assessment, wound care, injections and nebulizations.
• Conduct initial management of chronic patients and prescribe medications according to clinical diagnosis, established protocols and drug availability.
• Prepare monthly health reports and contribute to epidemiological monitoring.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in humanitarian, migration‑related or rural settings.
• Participate in health‑prevention activities, community self‑care promotion and disaster‑response actions when needed.

Required profile

• Medical degree with eligibility certified by the Consejo Técnico de Salud.
• Experience in primary care and basic emergency handling.
• Background in humanitarian, migration, shelter or rural health contexts (preferred).
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and produce regular reports.
