About the role

As an Industrial Mechanic you will play a key role in ensuring mechanical reliability and safe operation of equipment at the Cobre Panamá site. You will perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance that directly supports continuity and safety during the Preservation and Safe Management (PSM) phase. Daily tasks include inspections, diagnostics, repairs, adjustments and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance according to established plans.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and propose safe, efficient solutions.
• Disassemble, repair, adjust and re‑assemble mechanical components.
• Conduct routine inspections, verify equipment condition and report anomalies.
• Strictly follow safety procedures, including work permits and LOTO when applicable.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Accurately record all maintenance activities in company systems.
• Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation and operations teams as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reliability, equipment availability and safety standards.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Industrial Mechanics, Maintenance Mechanics, Heavy Automotive Mechanics or a related field.
• Relevant technical certifications (desired).
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in industrial, mining, process plant, power generation or large‑scale facilities.
• Knowledge of rotating and stationary equipment such as pumps, motors, gear reducers, gearboxes, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors, crushers and mills.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance (preventive, corrective, predictive).
• Experience with pumps, motors, gear reducers, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Conveyor, crusher and mill maintenance.
• LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.
• Use of maintenance recording systems.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings.
