Market Development Specialist – Private Sector Fundraising

About the role

The Market Development Specialist will support UNICEF’s Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP) Division in the Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO). Based in Panama City, the role focuses on expanding private‑sector fundraising, building strategic partnerships and mobilising resources to advance UNICEF’s mission for children across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Market Development Manager in designing and implementing private‑sector fundraising strategies for country and cluster offices.
• Identify and analyse growth opportunities with corporations, foundations and other private‑sector actors.
• Support the preparation of partnership proposals, pitches and resource‑mobilisation plans.
• Coordinate with regional and global teams to ensure alignment of fundraising initiatives with UNICEF’s strategic plan.
• Monitor and report on fundraising performance, providing insights for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in private‑sector fundraising, partnership development or resource mobilisation, preferably within an international organization or NGO.
• Strong understanding of the Latin America and Caribbean private‑sector landscape.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with country offices, regional leaders and global partners.
