Junior Mobile UI & Design Systems Designer

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Junior Mobile UI & Design Systems Designer to support the creation of high‑quality mobile experiences for a leading global news organization. Working closely with senior designers and mobile developers, you will translate established design strategies into implementation‑ready screens using Figma.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal designers to turn brand guidelines into consistent iOS and Android UI solutions.
• Create and update mobile app screens, ensuring visual consistency across platforms.
• Maintain and organize Figma files, components, variants, libraries, and design tokens.
• Apply the existing design system to all screens and user flows, documenting component states, spacing, typography, and interactions.
• Prepare clean, well‑named files for developer handoff and work closely with developers to clarify intent.
• Review implemented interfaces for visual accuracy and support ongoing improvements to the mobile design system.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of UI/UX or product design experience focused on mobile applications.
• Strong attention to detail, visual consistency, and ability to keep design files structured.
• Clear communication skills and collaborative mindset when working with developers and other designers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, components, variants, and libraries.
• Experience working within an established design system and using design tokens.
• Familiarity with Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Google Material Design.
• Basic understanding of mobile development constraints (React Native, Swift, Kotlin).
