About the role
The United School of Panama is seeking a proactive, service‑oriented IT Coordinator to manage and support its technology ecosystem. The role involves overseeing the school’s IT infrastructure, providing day‑to‑day technical support, and planning future technology investments in a dynamic educational environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain networks, Wi‑Fi, hardware, software, printers, classroom technology and related systems.
- Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting to faculty, staff and students.
- Administer user accounts, access permissions, device inventory and technology assets.
- Support integration and administration of educational and operational technology platforms.
- Monitor network performance, system security, backups and data protection practices.
- Coordinate installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrades of IT equipment and systems.
- Develop, manage and monitor the annual IT budget aligned with strategic priorities.
- Plan technology investments, equipment replacements, software licences and infrastructure upgrades.
- Handle IT purchasing, procurement, vendor quotations and cost‑effective solutions.
- Manage relationships, contracts and service agreements with technology vendors and external providers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assets, licences, warranties, systems and procedures.
- Support technology‑related projects and promote responsible, secure use of technology across the school community.
Required profile
- Degree or technical qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Previous experience in IT support, systems administration, network management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, software, troubleshooting and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Experience with IT budgeting, purchasing, inventory management and vendor coordination (highly desirable).
- Experience managing Apple devices and educational technology environments (advantage).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a collaborative, customer‑service mindset.
- English proficiency is required.
