Health, Nutrition and Population Operational Support Consultant

About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) seeks a consultant to support health project implementation for its Health Nutrition and Population Division (HNP) in Haiti. Based in Panama, the role involves frequent missions to Haiti and contributes to the bank’s portfolio aimed at strengthening health systems and advancing universal health coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on health‑related activities, reviewing planning, implementation and reporting documents such as Annual Operating Plans, procurement and financial plans, and progress reports.
• Prepare internal and corporate reports, including semi‑annual Project Monitoring Reports, technical cooperation reports, and project completion documents.
• Provide technical input for research and consultancy activities financed through Technical Cooperation programmes.
• Support logistical, technical and administrative tasks for the project team, including meeting coordination, briefing preparation and budget tracking.
• Assist the Health Specialist in strategic planning, sector data analysis, stakeholder dialogue and preparation of project profiles and briefings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public health, political science, public administration, economics, social inclusion or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing social development projects, preferably in health and nutrition, with knowledge of Haiti’s health system considered an asset.
• Fluency in French and Spanish (spoken and written); English proficiency is a plus.
• Citizenship of one of the IDB’s 48 member countries and no close family ties to IDB staff.
