Health, Nutrition and Population Operational Support Consultant

About the role

The Inter‑American Development Bank (IDB) seeks a consultant to support health‑related operations within its Health, Nutrition and Population Division (HNP) portfolio in Haiti. Based in Panama, the role involves regular field missions to Haiti and close collaboration with the Health Specialist for Haiti and the project team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and implementation of health‑related activities across IDB‑funded projects.
• Review and quality‑control planning, implementation, and reporting documents such as Annual Operating Plans, Multi‑year Execution Plans, procurement and financial plans, disbursement requests, and progress reports.
• Identify risks and opportunities, ensure alignment with Bank objectives, and verify compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
• Prepare internal reports, including semi‑annual Project Monitoring Reports, Technical Cooperation reports, and Project Completion Reports.
• Provide technical and operational input for the design and monitoring of research and consultancy activities financed through Technical Cooperation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in health project implementation, preferably within international development or multilateral institutions.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a senior health specialist and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical skills to assess project documents and identify compliance issues.
• Willingness to travel frequently to Haiti for field missions.
