Graduate Commercial Role – Procurement & Inventory

About the role

Entry-level development role for recent graduates to support procurement, expediting and inventory control for Cobre Panamá operations. The position provides practical experience in supplier coordination, ERP data management and inventory planning while adhering to group policies and site procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Support routine procurement activities such as Easy Item, Easy Vendor and Easy Prepayment under guidance of the Procurement team.
• Assist Procurement officers with non‑routine purchasing, reporting and coordination with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Monitor open purchase orders, confirm delivery dates, follow up on delays and escalate critical orders.
• Coordinate delivery requirements with Procurement, Warehousing and end users, and resolve supplier inquiries regarding overages, shortages and damages.
• Update purchasing and delivery status, supplier follow‑up notes and transaction records accurately in the ERP system.
• Support inventory planning by reviewing consumption trends, replenishment needs and stock levels for operational materials.

Required profile

• Recently graduated in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline.
• No prior professional experience required; internships or academic projects are desirable.
• Basic understanding of purchasing, supplier management, logistics flows, inventory concepts and warehouse operations.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail and ability to work with multicultural teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as JDE or Oracle.
