Environmental Specialist III – Panama

About the role

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Specialist III to join its Panama team. The role focuses on conducting environmental assessments, monitoring pollutant levels, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations across infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform environmental assessments and analyses to reduce negative impacts.
• Monitor and record pollutant levels in air, water, and soil.
• Compile technical reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with state, local, and IFC standards.
• Manage wastewater, stormwater, potable water, air emissions, noise, solid and hazardous waste, and industrial hygiene programs.
• Conduct risk analysis, impact assessments, remediation, and emergency response planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience; 5‑7 years preferred.
• Experience in field supervision and preparation of environmental impact studies.
• Proven ability to write technical and environmental reports.
• Familiarity with local and IFC environmental standards.
• Registration as an environmental consultant with the Ministry of Environment (if applicable).
• Willingness to travel frequently and work onsite in Panama.
• Advanced English proficiency.
