Director – Syndicate Banker (Latin America)

About the role

The Director – Syndicate Banker will lead the centralisation of Spread Products syndications across Latin America, focusing on private structured credit originated by the Emerging Market Credit Trading team. Based in Panama City, the role provides direct and indirect access to Citi’s client base and drives new business development.

Key responsibilities

• Own all phases of project and transaction execution, from origination to syndication.
• Collaborate with senior and C‑level client teams to secure commitments, lead due‑diligence, and manage internal committee approvals.
• Engage with professional advisors and coordinate dialogues that may lead to syndication opportunities.
• Draft pitch materials, information memoranda, investor and management presentations.
• Oversee analysts and associates working on assigned projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, trading or syndications within private credit.
• Strong background in financial services with a focus on private structured credit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking products, regulations, lending and credit approval processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with large corporate clients and capital‑markets products, including derivatives, credit, cash management, trade finance and securities.
• Series 79, Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and relevant local market registrations.
