Controller – Finance Team (Panama)

About the role

Monjasa is seeking a Controller to join its finance team in Panama. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial information while supporting day‑to‑day operations in a fast‑paced, international trading environment. The role offers the chance to develop controlling expertise across the P&L, balance sheet, inventory and reporting functions.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of accounting and controlling activities across the P&L and balance sheet.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including reconciliations.
• Manage inventory, costing and related financial controls in a high‑volume environment.
• Prepare financial reports and provide analysis to support business decisions.
• Coordinate audit activities and liaise with auditors.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Work hands‑on in the ERP system and Excel, reviewing and improving financial workflows.

Required profile

• Solid professional experience in accounting and controlling.
• Strong understanding of balance sheet, P&L and underlying accounting principles.
• Experience with financial closing, reconciliations and reporting.
• Background in inventory‑intensive environments, preferably commodities or trading.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Detail‑oriented, structured and comfortable taking ownership.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Navision.
