Contador/a – Gestión contable y fiscal en Panamá

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to manage the full accounting, tax and labor obligations of our operations in Panama. The professional will ensure accurate financial reporting and timely compliance with Panamanian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete accounting cycle and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare, review and file tax obligations with the Dirección General de Ingresos (DGI), including e‑Tax, ITBMS, income tax, withholdings and electronic invoicing.
• Handle social security obligations with the Caja de Seguro Social (CSS) and maintain payroll records in the SIPE system.
• Calculate and review payroll, CSS contributions, deductions, vacations, 13th‑month pay, settlements and other labor obligations.
• Stay updated on Panamanian labor, fiscal and tax legislation and respond to requests from DGI, CSS and other government entities.
• Prepare information for audits and provide tax, accounting and labor compliance advice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant in Panama.
• Strong knowledge of Panamanian fiscal, tax, accounting and labor regulations.
• Experience with DGI, CSS and the SIPE system.
• Current CPA or professional qualification preferred.
