BAY Mechanic

About the role

The AES Corporation is seeking a skilled Bay Mechanic to join its hydroelectric power plant team. The role focuses on ensuring reliable mechanical operation of plant equipment through preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on all mechanical equipment, including cooling systems, auxiliaries, turbine, generator and speed governor.
• Perform daily mechanical maintenance tasks to keep the plant operating safely and efficiently.
• Develop and complete Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and close work permits, documenting work orders with man‑hours, materials and equipment in SAP.
• Review and improve maintenance programs by participating in periodic SAP task reviews.
• Communicate equipment, material and spare‑part needs for annual budgeting.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings to identify components such as remote and electromechanical controls.
• Adhere to safety, occupational health and environmental standards defined in AES’s Integrated Management System (SGI).

Required profile

• Proven experience in preventive, predictive and corrective mechanical maintenance within a hydroelectric or similar industrial environment.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with SAP work‑order management and documentation procedures.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including JSA creation and compliance with occupational health standards.
