BAY Mechanic

About the role

The Hydroelectric Mechanic is responsible for executing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks on the mechanical equipment of a hydroelectric power plant. The role ensures reliable operation of systems such as cooling, auxiliaries, turbine, generator and speed governor.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment across plant units.
• Carry out daily mechanical maintenance programs.
• Develop and document Job Safety Analyses (JSA), close work permits and record work orders with man‑hours, materials and equipment in SAP.
• Participate in periodic reviews of SAP tasks to improve maintenance processes.
• Communicate equipment, material and spare‑part needs for the annual budget.
• Read mechanical drawings and identify components such as remote and electromechanical controls.
• Adhere to safety, occupational health and environmental standards defined in AES’s Integrated Management System.

Required profile

• Experience in preventive, predictive and corrective mechanical maintenance within a hydroelectric or industrial plant.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance modules and work‑order documentation.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to prepare Job Safety Analyses.
