About the role

The Professional Experience Program (PEXP) at the Panama Canal Authority offers a temporary position as an Assistant in Human Resources, focusing on recruitment and placement. This role supports the HR team in qualifying applicants for permanent, temporary, and internal mobility actions while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess qualifications of candidates for permanent, temporary, promotion, transfer and other personnel actions.
• Process personnel actions in the Oracle HR system, verifying eligibility, applying qualification standards and salary rules.
• Review internal job postings for compliance with requirements, conditions and criteria.
• Administer and coordinate special programs related to recruitment, placement and professional practice.
• Provide advice, guidance and interpretation of HR regulations to internal staff, students and the public.

Required profile

• Panamanian nationality.
• Intermediate English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Enrolled in the final year of a university degree with a GPA of 1.75 or higher (University of Panama system).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret and apply regulations.
• Excellent communication, customer orientation, organization, and ability to manage priorities under pressure.
