Afterschool Coach – Extracurricular Activities

About the role

The Afterschool Coach will plan, lead and develop extracurricular activities that support students’ overall development, including skills, creativity, physical fitness, critical thinking and teamwork. The role involves preparing students for performances, competitions and tournaments while promoting the school’s values and ensuring professional representation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead training sessions, classes, rehearsals and practical activities for the assigned discipline.
• Design age‑appropriate teaching strategies and activities that develop technical, physical and artistic skills.
• Foster values such as discipline, respect, perseverance, teamwork and healthy competition.
• Supervise students during all activities, including competitions, performances and external events.
• Prepare and accompany teams to tournaments, competitions and performances.
• Monitor student progress, provide feedback and adapt sessions to individual needs.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure safe, responsible use of equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate with program coordinators and communicate effectively with staff.

Required profile

• Academic background, certification or demonstrated experience in the discipline to be taught (e.g., volleyball).
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a coaching, teaching or facilitation role.
• Ability to manage groups of varying ages and skill levels and to work within a school environment.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and coaching techniques.
• Proficiency in English (asset for an international school setting).
