About the role

The Planning Superintendent – Site Services leads strategic, tactical and operational planning for the Site Services department, ensuring efficient scheduling of resources, materials and activities across camp, facilities, transport, utilities and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end planning process for Site Services, aligning work, resources and materials with service level targets.
• Manage the department backlog, prioritising based on operational criticality, safety risk, production impact and business requirements.
• Develop and execute weekly and rolling 12‑week plans in coordination with operations, maintenance, facilities, camp and contractors.
• Implement and maintain planning standards to ensure consistent quality of schedules, work sequences and resource requirements.
• Oversee planning for major works, infrastructure projects, critical maintenance and shutdowns, identifying risks and dependencies early.
• Coordinate with materials and logistics to secure timely availability of spares, consumables and services.
• Monitor, analyse and report planning KPIs such as weekly compliance, plan vs. actual, backlog ageing and resource utilisation.
• Identify optimisation opportunities through load levelling, work grouping and sequence improvements.
• Lead weekly planning meetings and performance reviews to align execution with operational priorities.
• Develop the capabilities of planners and schedulers, fostering a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading planning activities in a large‑scale operational environment.
• Strong ability to manage complex backlogs and prioritise work based on safety, production and business impact.
• Excellent analytical skills with a data‑driven approach to planning and performance monitoring.
• Effective cross‑functional coordination with operations, maintenance, facilities, logistics and external contractors.
• Leadership experience in developing and coaching planning teams.
