Senior Construction Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to join its Panama City team. You will lead complex infrastructure projects, applying advanced engineering concepts to deliver safe and sustainable water‑related structures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team on‑site, providing technical direction and mentorship.
• Interpret, organize, execute and coordinate complex engineering assignments for small to medium‑size projects.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for water dams, retarding basins and service basins.
• Perform inspections, design reviews and engineering analyses to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to drive project success.

Required profile

• Minimum BA/BS degree in Civil, Structural or related engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in construction engineering, preferably with dams or water infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and direct engineering teams on construction sites.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to complex engineering challenges.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of engineering theories, principles and construction methods.
• Experience with design and inspection of dams, retarding basins and service basins.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
