Latin America Representative

About the role

The Financial Services Commission is creating a new regional office in Panama City to act as a bridge between the Commission and service providers across Latin America. The Latin America Representative will lead day‑to‑day operations, sit on the office’s Board of Directors, and shape the strategic direction of the office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee staff operations and ensure effective functioning of the LatAm Office.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures and guidance for efficient operations.
• Identify, monitor and manage operational risks and ensure data management systems support reporting and service delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with service providers and relevant regulatory bodies across Latin America.
• Monitor and report on financial‑services sector trends, macro‑economic and political developments in the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, Economics or related field with at least four years post‑qualification experience in financial services, or a relevant professional qualification with five years’ experience.
• Working knowledge of the Commission’s Registry of Corporate Affairs and its regulatory products.
• Ability to develop understanding of international financial centres, markets and supervisory standards.
• Strong interpersonal, delegation and staff‑motivation abilities, with diplomatic skills for stakeholder engagement.
