About the role

The Head of Accounting will lead the accounting team across Grupo Maito’s restaurant portfolio, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting staff of multiple restaurant locations.
• Validate journal entries, invoices and transactions in QuickBooks.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, close the books, and consolidate results across business units.
• Oversee bank reconciliations and produce periodic sales and banking reports.
• Develop financial analyses and reports for management, highlighting variances and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate external audits, internal controls and periodic process reviews.
• Manage tax obligations (ITBMS, income tax filings, payroll, municipal declarations, etc.).
• Participate in annual budgeting and financial result analysis.
• Train and develop restaurant accountants, ensuring adherence to closing schedules.
• Collaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Inventory, HR and Administration to integrate financial information.
• Identify and propose process standardization to strengthen group-wide accounting control.

Required profile

• 2+ years in supervisory or leadership accounting roles, preferably in restaurants.
• 5‑10 years of overall accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Age between 35 and 45 years.
• Experience handling multiple legal entities simultaneously.

Required skills

• Advanced QuickBooks proficiency.
• Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
• Knowledge of payroll systems and cost‑management tools.
• Expertise in tax compliance (DGI, ITBMS, income‑tax annexes, municipal filings).
• Familiarity with electronic invoicing modules, SIPE and public‑record registration.
• Experience with retail ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP or Oracle (plus).
• Experience with restaurant inventory and cost platforms like Marketman.
