About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Firefighter to join the Emergency Services team at Cobre Panamá, a large‑scale mining operation of First Quantum. The role involves responding to site emergencies, conducting fire‑fighting and rescue activities, and maintaining a safe environment for personnel and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Respond safely and efficiently to emergencies and incidents on the site.
• Participate in fire‑fighting, rescue, first‑aid, and hazardous‑material response operations.
• Maintain emergency equipment, vehicles and tools in optimal working condition.
• Take part in technical training, drills and physical‑conditioning programs.
• Promote a safety culture aligned with the “FQM Way” values.
• Support education and prevention initiatives related to safety and emergencies.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education (high school diploma).
• Basic certification in fire‑fighting.
• Fundamental knowledge of fire‑fighting, rescue and first‑aid procedures.
• Ability to operate extinguishers, hoses, self‑contained breathing apparatus and rescue tools.
• Good physical condition and ability to work shift schedules.
• Desirable: experience in emergency response, industrial or high‑risk environments, and prior participation in fire brigades.

• Operation of fire‑fighting equipment (extinguishers, hoses).
• Use of self‑contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
• Handling of rescue tools.
