Asistente Ambiental (La Chorrera)

About the role

The Environmental Assistant will support the implementation and monitoring of the project's Environmental Management Plan in La Chorrera, Panama. The role involves field inspections, permit management, and coordination with contractors to ensure compliance with local environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and tracking the Environmental Management Plan.
• Conduct periodic field inspections to verify compliance with prevention, mitigation, and control measures.
• Support the acquisition and control of required environmental permits.
• Maintain records and documentary evidence related to environmental management.
• Monitor compliance with environmental commitments outlined in applicable instruments.
• Prepare environmental reports for the project and regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to ensure adherence to environmental provisions.
• Participate in environmental awareness and training activities for project staff.
• Report findings, incidents, or non‑compliance identified during inspections.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Sanitary and Environmental Technology, or a related field.
• Professional eligibility to practice in the Republic of Panama.
• Minimum 2 years of experience on construction projects in Panama.
• At least 1 year in an environmental management or coordination role for sanitary sewer, wastewater treatment, or similar projects.
• Knowledge of Panamanian environmental regulations and Environmental Management Plans.
• Ability to conduct field work and produce technical reports.
• Full‑time availability for the duration of the project.
• Willingness to work in Panama Oeste and perform field duties.
