Senior HSE Business Partner

About the role

APM Terminals Panama is seeking a Senior HSE Business Partner to lead health, safety and environment performance across its terminals in the Americas. Based in Panama, the role involves extensive travel to North, Central and South America, partnering with terminal leaders and operational teams to embed a proactive HSE culture.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with regional and terminal leadership to improve HSE performance and align with strategic priorities.
• Develop, implement and monitor regional HSE improvement plans and the HSE Management Framework.
• Analyse HSE trends, identify emerging risks and provide data‑driven insights for decision‑making.
• Drive accountability, engagement and continuous‑improvement initiatives across the region.
• Coordinate investigation, learning and closure of high‑severity incidents.
• Support due‑diligence for new terminal projects and business growth opportunities.
• Coach and influence leaders to strengthen ownership of HSE outcomes.
• Develop HSE talent through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in HSE within a terminal, port or industrial environment.
• Strong business‑partnering skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Proven track record of leading HSE improvement projects and incident investigations.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the Americas.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
