Técnico QA/QC – Control de Calidad en Minería

About the role

The QA/QC Technician will ensure that raw materials, in‑process samples and finished products meet the required quality standards within a mining environment. The role involves laboratory testing, documentation and collaboration with production and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and testing of raw materials, process samples and finished products according to established sampling plans.
• Operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
• Document and report test results promptly, highlighting any deviations or non‑conformities.
• Support root‑cause investigations of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering and other departments to maintain quality standards throughout the production cycle.
• Maintain a clean, organized laboratory while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Participate in the development and improvement of QA/QC procedures and documentation.
• Provide support during internal and external audits by supplying required documentation and information.

Required profile

• Secondary diploma or equivalent; technical, associate degree or certification in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Quality Control or related fields preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience, preferably in mining, heavy industry or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards.
• Strong attention to detail, precision and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and quality control plans.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Spanish; English proficiency is a plus.
• Physical ability to work in a mining environment, including exposure to dust, noise and varying temperatures.
