Senior Accountant – Accounts Receivable

About the role

The Senior Accountant will own the full accounting cycle in Panama, ensuring accurate financial information for the CFO and headquarters while leading the analysis, cleanup and collection strategy for the accounts‑receivable portfolio across Panama and Central America.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle for Panama, ensuring accurate month‑end close and timely reporting to the CFO and headquarters.
• Lead analysis, cleanup and collection strategy for the accounts‑receivable portfolio across Panama and Central America, coordinating with Commercial, SCM and Treasury.
• Prepare staggered monthly reports, quarterly consolidation packages and support external audits in accordance with IFRS.
• Track invoices, overdue balances and payment commitments, design and adjust collection actions based on aging and root‑cause analysis.
• Participate in the credit committee, providing AR insights for credit limits and payment terms.
• Support the SAP migration (go‑live November 2026) and the annual financial close.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA (Panama) a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with the full accounting cycle, month‑end close and financial statements.
• Proven experience in accounts‑receivable portfolio analysis, aging review and collection strategy, preferably with legacy balance cleanup.
• Fluent business English for direct communication with the CFO, CEO and headquarters.
• Experience guiding small accounting or collections teams in a multinational environment.

Required skills

• IFRS accounting standards.
• SAP ERP (including SAP Cloud and migration experience).
• Accounts‑receivable management and portfolio analysis.
• Collection strategy development and execution.
• External audit coordination.
• CPA (Panama) certification (optional).
