Regional Programme Specialist – Care Economy (P4)

About the role

Under the guidance of the Deputy Regional Director, the Regional Programme Specialist will provide strategic leadership and comprehensive management of UN Women’s care programme in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role ensures the coordinated implementation of care‑related activities, aligns project components with donor and UN Women requirements, and contributes to the generation of knowledge and public positioning on comprehensive care policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the operational implementation of care activities across the five priority countries (Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic).
• Ensure effective articulation between project components, donor expectations, and UN Women reference documents.
• Collaborate closely with the economic empowerment team, technical care specialists, and UN Women country offices.
• Maintain communication with national and local partner institutions to support activity delivery and capacity‑building.
• Contribute to regional initiatives, bi‑regional cooperation with Europe, and the development of inspiring local practices.
• Monitor progress, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with project documentation.

Required profile

• Professional experience in programme coordination and management within gender equality or care‑policy contexts.
• Familiarity with UN Women processes, donor requirements, and multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with regional and country teams and external partners.
