Quality Control Technician I

About the role

The Quality Control Technician I is responsible for performing physicochemical and sensory analyses of raw materials, ensuring they meet internal specifications, supplier requirements, and applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physicochemical analyses on a variety of raw materials, including juice concentrates, organic compounds (esters, aldehydes, alcohols, organic acids, ketones), colorants, essential oils, gums, stabilizers, starches, sugars, preservatives, sweeteners, and solvents.
• Perform sensory evaluations of raw materials according to established procedures.
• Maintain and update regulatory documentation, ensuring availability for audits.
• Support supplier qualification by providing required analyses and documentation.
• Record results in appropriate sheets and systems, guaranteeing data integrity and traceability.
• Collaborate with the inventory team to prioritize sampling and analysis.
• Execute raw‑material sampling, including microbiological sampling for external labs when required.
• Verify proper operation, condition, and calibration of analytical equipment such as refractometers, densimeters, pH meters, and gas chromatographs.
• Notify Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams promptly when materials fail to meet specifications.
• Adhere to internal procedures related to quality, safety, environment, and good laboratory practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry (mandatory).
• Current professional registration with the National College of Chemists.
• Spanish: advanced/native.
• English: basic level.

Required skills

• Physicochemical analysis of diverse food‑grade raw materials.
• Sensory analysis techniques.
• Operation and calibration of refractometer, densimeter, pH meter, and gas chromatograph.
• Knowledge of food safety management systems (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP).
• Regulatory documentation management and audit readiness.
