Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

As a Manufacturing Engineer at ZF LIFETEC you will ensure that production volumes are met while optimizing equipment utilization and supporting the launch of new automotive safety products. You will work in the Lourdes plant, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee coverage of planned production volumes using installed capacity.
• Optimize equipment utilization and support the MaB process for series and future production.
• Plan capacity, floor space, investment and forecast requirements.
• Manage Capex and budget, conduct machine purchasing, and support standardisation of production processes.
• Lead Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) initiatives and DFMA analysis.
• Conduct FMEA planning within process engineering and support footprint analysis and customer quotation projects.
• Organise training and qualification programmes for new production lines and supervise new product launches.

Required profile

• Academic degree in a technical field or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of automotive safety products and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with experience presenting topics, running projects and building teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Coaching and project‑management capabilities.
