About the role

The Engineering Leader will drive the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects for AES Panama’s generation and energy infrastructure assets. This senior position ensures that projects meet business goals, safety standards, scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating multidisciplinary teams from concept to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects for generation and energy infrastructure assets.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from scope definition through commissioning, ensuring compliance with technical and business objectives.
• Develop and maintain execution plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor physical and financial progress.
• Support major maintenance activities, including pre‑outage planning, resource allocation, contractor and material coordination, and transition to Operations & Maintenance.
• Provide continuous portfolio visibility using planning tools, risk management, and executive reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering projects in the power or energy sector.
• Strong understanding of technical standards, safety requirements, and project governance.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience coordinating major maintenance and outage planning.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills for executive stakeholders.
