About the role

The Engineering Leader will drive the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects for AES Panama’s power generation and infrastructure assets. This senior position ensures that projects meet business objectives, safety standards, scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating multidisciplinary teams from concept to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management and execution of engineering projects for AES Panama assets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams from definition, design, and preparation through commissioning and hand‑over to Operations & Maintenance.
• Support major maintenance activities, including pre‑outage planning, resource allocation, contractor and material coordination.
• Maintain project execution plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring compliance with technical and management standards.
• Provide continuous visibility of the project portfolio using planning tools, physical and financial progress tracking, risk management, and executive reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering projects in the energy sector.
• Strong understanding of generation assets, infrastructure engineering, and maintenance processes.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure adherence to safety and technical standards.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for stakeholder coordination and reporting.
