Lead Chef

About the role

As Lead Chef, you will go beyond cooking to set the tone and flow for the entire evening team at Sansara Surf & Yoga Resort. You will lead a small kitchen crew, ensure consistency during retreat seasons, and bring creativity to special events.

Key responsibilities

• Guide the kitchen team with clarity, professionalism and respect to create a harmonious work environment.
• Implement efficient systems and clear mise en place lists for prep and sous chefs.
• Maintain strict adherence to designated menus during retreat season (January–May) serving ~30 guests per evening.
• Design and execute a Saturday Chef’s Night during non‑retreat weeks to showcase creativity.
• Model punctuality, presence and professional standards as the head of the kitchen.

Required profile

• Experienced chef with strong leadership skills.
• Organized, calm under pressure and able to keep service flowing smoothly.
• Creative, inspired by fresh seasonal ingredients while respecting consistency.
• Professional, punctual and committed to high kitchen standards.
• Collaborative, respectful and able to foster a positive work environment.
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a strong advantage; must hold Panamanian citizenship or valid work papers.
