Junior Accountant – Panama On-site

About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join their on‑site team in Panama. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day accounting tasks and exposure to fund accounting within an investment environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Support bank, cash and general‑ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Help prepare monthly financial reports, schedules and supporting documentation.
• Learn and assist with fund accounting processes, including investment activity, income, expenses and fund reconciliations.
• Organise and maintain accounting documentation for internal reviews and external audits.
• Support senior accountants with recurring tasks and reporting deadlines.
• Develop knowledge of the client’s accounting systems, procedures and fund accounting through on‑the‑job training.

Required profile

• Degree or studies in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience or relevant internship experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, reconciliations and financial statements.
• Basic to intermediate Excel skills and comfort working with numbers.
• Fluent Spanish and ability to communicate in English at a basic to professional level.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work on‑site in Panama and collaborate with senior team members.
