Industrial Engineer – Warehouse Automation & Operational Technology

About the role

This position supports the Warehouse Automation & Operational Technology (AOT) agenda by designing, validating, and integrating advanced automation solutions for high‑performance warehouses worldwide. It is a hands‑on engineering role that blends technical expertise with analytical thinking to deliver reliable, scalable technology.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand operational needs and translate them into automation concepts.
• Generate and validate technical scopes of work for automation tenders and vendor proposals.
• Lead engineering validation of automation solutions, including sortation systems, PTL, AGV/AMR, and AS/RS.
• Design and size OT infrastructure, network architecture, and server requirements.
• Interpret layouts, process flows, and technical drawings to ensure seamless integration.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of end‑to‑end warehouse processes (inbound, storage, picking) and material‑handling equipment.
• Experience with operational and functional KPIs to guide solution design.
• Ability to assess and recommend appropriate automation technologies for specific use cases.
• Proven track record designing, pricing, and implementing warehouse automation projects.

• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• SCADA and HMI monitoring tools.
• ISA‑95 communication standards.
• Automation equipment: sorters, Pick‑to‑Light (PTL), AGV, AMR, AS/RS, robotics.
• Network architecture: WAN, WLAN, LAN.
• OT devices: handhelds, printers, RFID.
